Mackey Arena
Located in West Lafayette, Indiana, Mackey Arena is home of the Purdue
Boilermakers basketball team.  The seating capacity is 14,123.  The arena opened in
1967 as a replacement for Lambert Fieldhouse, and is named after Purdue alumnus
and long time athletic director Guy "Red" Mackey.  On December 12, 1997, the floor
was renamed Keady Court in honor of longtime men's coach Gene Keady.  Gene
Keady coached the team from 1980 thru 2005.

The design of this arena is not unique.  It has a common circular arena design,
similar to many built in the 1960s.

As of June 2006, planning is underway for a $70-80 million dollar renovation to be
completed in 2011 or 2012.  Improvements will be made to the scoreboards, floor,
seating and concessions.  Between 400 to 800 seats will be lost during the
renovation to improve the overall facility.
